Ralph Penner – Chairman Ralph is a strong proponent of corporate social responsibility in South America. In addition to his leadership at Altiplano Ventures, Ralph is the Technical Director, Mining at AMEC where he has worked on projects in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico. Prior to joining AMEC, he worked for 16 years at Barrick Gold, including projects in the US, Argentina, and Chile. Ralph grew up in Ontario, Canada. He holds two technical diplomas in Mining Technology from the Haileybury School of Mines, a B.Sc. (Honors) in Mining Engineering from Queen's University, and a joint bilingual MBA degree from Tulane University and Universidad de Chile. In his free time, he enjoys hosting barbeques and riding his motorcycle. He speaks fluent English and Spanish.
Kevin Woolley – Chief Executive Officer Kevin is passionate about social entrepreneurship in Latin America. Prior to founding Altiplano Ventures, he was a business analyst at Business News Americas, a business media company based in Santiago, Chile. Prior to relocating to Chile, he worked at Madison-LaSalle Advisory Group, a boutique consultancy advising companies in commercial real estate transactions in Chicago. Kevin grew up near Washington, DC. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis, as well as, a postgraduate certificate and Master of Finance degree from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago, Chile. In his free time, he enjoys training for triathlons and reading. He speaks fluent English and Spanish, and basic Portuguese.
Prudence Thiry – General Counsel Prudence thrives in complex international business settings. Prior to co-founding Altiplano Ventures, Prudence was an attorney at Goodwin Procter LLP in New York City, where she specialized in M&A, venture capital, and private equity transactions. Prior to relocating to New York, she practiced law at SJ Berwin and SG Archibald in Paris. Prudence grew up in Paris, France. She holds an LL.M. from Cornell Law School and joint degrees in European and business law from Université Paris X – Nanterre in France. She is a member of both the New York State and Paris Bars. In her free time, she enjoys leisure and competitive sailing and international travel. She speaks fluent English and French, and proficient Spanish. |
